WWII Memorial Rose

It is highly regarded for its unique, antique-toned coloration and its rugged performance in the garden. Color: The blooms have a very distince "iridescent" quality. The base is a soft mauve-pink to pale lavender, but it is overlaid with a silvery-grey cast. In cooler temperatures, the grey tones become more pronounced giving the rose and elegant, antique appearance. It is a classic "rose" scent that is powerful enough to perfume an entire room. Vase Life: Excellent, it was bred with long, sturdy stems specifically for cutting gardens. Growth Habit: Upright and bushy, reaching a mature height of 4 to 5 feet and a width of about 2 to 3 feet. Disease Resistance: Very high. It is known for being a "tough" rose with excellent resistance to common issues like black spot and mildew. Hardiness: USDA zones 6-10 (5 with winter protection). Foliage: Dense, semi-glossy, dark green leaves that provide a striking contrast to the silvery-mauve flowers. Breeder: O.L Weeks, the last rose by the legendary Ollie before his passing. Introduced in the year 2000. Symbolism: The rose was named to coincide with the dedication of the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
