Sterling Silver
The Sterling Silver rose is a landmark in rose history, introduced in 1957 by Gladys Fisher, The Creator of Lavender. It holds the distinction of being the world's first lavender Hybrid Tea and remains a favorite for its unique color and "nearly thornless" stems. Appearance: The blooms are a sophisticated silvery-lavender. They are large (4-5 inches), high-centered, and typically have 25-30 petals. Fragrance: It is famous for an intense award-winning sweet citrus scent. Growth Habit: A compact, upright shrub reaching about 3-4 feet in height. Because it is an older variety, it is often described as having "moderate vigor" and may require more attention in its first few years compared to modern hybrids. Cut Flowers: Due to its long, smooth stems and exceptional fragrance, it is a premier choice for high-end cut flower arrangements and bouquets. Climate: It performs best in USDA zones 7-9, if in humid zones, it benefits being put in a spot with a good amount of air circulation. A descendant of the famous, "peace" rose. Bare Root, Budded, Grade #1, the highest retail grade.
