Rouge Royale

The Rouge Royale is a standout Hybrid Tea rose from French breeder Meilland's Romantica collection. It is highly prized in both commercial and private gardens for its "old-fashioned" look and extraordinary scent. Appearance: The blooms are a deep velvety raspberry-red to burgundy. They are "perfectly quartered," meaning the 75-100 petals are arranged in a dense, symmetrical four-part pattern typical of antique roses. Fragrance: It possesses a powerful award-winning fragrance described as a blend of citrus and ripe berries. Growth Habit: It is a bushy, upright shrub reaching 4-5 feet in height and about 2-3 feet in width. Performance: Known for its sturdy stems and excellent resistance to rain and heat, though it may require staking if the heavy, 5-inch blooms begin to "nod" or droop.
