Liv Tyler Rose
The LivTyler rose was named after actress Liv Tyler when a fragrance company she was modeling for noticed that her natural beauty and "classic yet modern" look matched the characteristics of this specific Meilland seedling. It is a celebrated Hybrid Tea rose from the Meilland International house in France. It belongs to their 'Romantica" style-designed to look like an antique rose but with the vigor of a modern variety. Bloom Style: Very full (like a peony), with 75-80 petals per bloom. The flowers are large, usually 5-6 inches across. Color: A soft, glowing coral-pink that often has a deeper, warm center and fades slightly at the edges. Fragrance: One of its most famous traits. It has a powerful, award-winning scent described as ripe apricots, peach and honey. Growth Habit: It is an upright, bushy shrub that typically grows 4 to 6 feet tall and about 3 to 4 feet wide. It produces long, sturdy stems, making it a premier cutting rose. Hardiness Zones: Typically USDA zones 6-9. Disease Resistance: Very high. It features glossy, olive-green foliage that resists the typical blackspot and mildew. Heat Tolerance: It performs exceptionally well in sunny, warm climates where the apricot notes become more intense. Landscape Use: Because of its upright height, it works well in the middle or back of a border or a dedicated cutting garden due to its long vase life. Bare Root Budded, Grade #1, the highest retail quality of roses.
